You’ve probably got a million reasons to be thankful to your mom, but if you wrote her a card this Mother’s day, you’ve got another one.
Literacy is the single biggest indicator of success in life, and whether your parents can read and write is the biggest predictor of if you will be able to read and write as well.
Thanks to your mom you have independence, a voice, will live a longer, happier life and are less likely to suffer a whole host of problems. Your mom made sure you could read this. So let’s help the moms who can’t. We need your help. Donate to our charity partners on the ground who are helping adults and mothers learn to read and write, or share our film and spread the word.
Thank you, and happy Mother’s Day.

Your donation can help to support adults learning to read and write. Read some of their stories below.
At bedtime with her children, Wanda would pick a book and make up a story to go with the pictures. This stopped working when her children learned to read and noticed that the words didn’t match. Feeling inspired to take action, she went back to school and her world was opened up. Her confidence has grown hugely and she can now share her children’s love of reading.
As a mother, Donna’s life was filled with situations that were made more difficult by her illiteracy. It was her children’s belief in her that gave her the courage to enlist in a local literacy program. Now, as well as getting her driving licence, she has so much more confidence and has made her daughters proud.
