SPECIALIST // Stefania Mereu’s Bio
Learning is my passion.
I have been a university instructor, mentor, and volunteer reading tutor for children with learning difficulties. I have a Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology and I still remain an avid learner.
Professionally, I specialize in product design, development and user research. My expertise spans across all stages of product development: from ideation, to execution. I have previous experience with e-commerce, conversion optimization, and startup environments. Since joining Pearson, I introduced Design Sprints, which I often facilitate, as a way to explore new product ideas in the Clinical Assessment division. Created by Google Venture, Design Sprints are cross-functional workshops that apply all stages of design thinking—Define (the problem), Ideate, Storyboard, Prototype, and Test—in 5 days of intensive collaboration. I evangelize human centered design and I advocate for early customer feedback.
I am an advocate of data-driven culture. I have 12 years of experience in research and data analysis. My experience spans across both qualitative and quantitative techniques: It includes advanced statistical methods and machine learning as well as usability tests, focus groups, surveys, diary studies, in person interviews, card sort, implicit preference testing and reaction times. I am fluent in both r and MATLAB.
