MENTOR // Mark Chernis’s Bio
Mark joined Pearson in June 2011, currently serving as the SVP of Strategic Partnerships and Investments. He was previously the President and Chief Operating Officer of SchoolNet, which at the time of its acquisition was the leading provider of instructional management software. The company served hundreds of school districts across the United States.
Prior to Schoolnet, Mark joined The Princeton Review in 1984 as the company’s Chief Operating Officer. In August 2000, he was appointed as President of the company. During his 24 year career at The Princeton Review, Mark either held or oversaw key leadership positions in nearly every sector of the company, including IT, operations and product development. Over the years, he orchestrated more than 15 corporate acquisitions, sat on several boards, and was instrumental in Princeton Review’s IPO in June 2001.
