Project Literacy Lab is a partnership between Pearson and the Unreasonable Group, as part of the broader Project Literacy campaign, focused on supporting rapid growth ventures to help close the global literacy gap by 2030.
Last year, the inaugural Project Literacy Lab brought together 16 for-profit ventures, headquartered across 5 continents for a two-week accelerator program to help them scale internationally faster. This year, Project Literacy Lab once again came together but this time in London at a TED-style event on 1st June.
Watch the recorded livestream of the session that included pitches from our entrepreneurs on how to tackle illiteracy using social innovation solutions ranging from pay-as-you-go solar energy to affordable sanitary pads and virtual teaching assistants. The event also featured keynotes and a panel discussion from actress and Project Literacy ambassador Lily Cole and Sam Baker, founder of The Pool. Tune in below!
Ways to Get Involved with Project Literacy
They say it takes a village to raise a child. We think it takes everyone to bring the power of words to the world. To truly make illiteracy a thing of the past we need everyone to contribute in big and small ways. We’ve organized this page to make it as easy as possible for you to get involved in the way that suits you best.
You can also support Project Literacy in the following ways:
Donate to Project Literacy partner organizations working hard on the ground to make a difference in people’s lives.
- Spread the word
- Become a volunteer
Volunteering is a powerful way to contribute your time, skills or expertise to help further literacy.
